John McCain's daughter Meghan causes row over s*** Twitter photo
John McCain's daughter Meghan has apologised after she sparked an internet storm by posting a saucy picture of herself on Twitter.
The snap features the 24-year-old blonde daughter of the former presidential hopeful wearing a skimpy tank top.
But after a deluge of derogatory comments, Meghan is threatening to leave the site.
She wrote: "...so I took a fun picture not thinking anything about what I was wearing but apparently anything other than a pantsuit and I am a s***."
She added: "When I am alone in my apartment I wear tank tops and sweat pants, I had no idea this makes me a s***. I can't even tell you how hurt I am."
McCain, a columnist and blogger, is followed by nearly 60,000 people on Twitter.
She promised to "sleep on" the decision to quit Twitter.
She thanked a select few for their messages of support. She added: "I do want to apologize to anyone that was offended by my twitpic, I have clearly made a huge mistake and am sorry 2 those that are offended."
Before signing off, McCain, who is pictured reading a book by Andy Warhol, also left a link to her latest column for the website The Daily Beast.
